Friday Finds 11•24•17 (Christmas Decorating Edition)

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! For me, today is the day that marks the beginning of the holiday season. We always purchase our fresh Fraser fir Christmas tree on this day and buy all our fresh greens, wreaths, and garlands. The only Black Friday shopping that I do is a trip to the Home Depot where, today only, there are $0.99 poinsettias in 6 inch pots, 22-inch fresh wreaths for $6.88, and 15-foot fresh garlands for $6.88.  With the exception of the poinsettias (which like warm temperatures), you can stock up on all these items and keep them in your garage or other cool location until you are ready to decorate with them. The store opens at 6 a.m., and they do sell out, so I advise going in the morning.

I buy these boxwood wreaths at Trader Joe’s each year. They are a steal! The wreaths are happiest outside, but, with a couple of mists daily, they look good inside as well.

  1. Great post! I am so glad to see the link about how to decorate with magnolia leaves. This is our third Christmas in our home, and we actually do have a large magnolia in our backyard. Each year I’ve said that I’m going to do something with the leaves, but I never do. Lots of great ideas in that article- maybe this is the year I’ll actually do something!
