I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! For me, today is the day that marks the beginning of the holiday season. We always purchase our fresh Fraser fir Christmas tree on this day and buy all our fresh greens, wreaths, and garlands. The only Black Friday shopping that I do is a trip to the Home Depot where, today only, there are $0.99 poinsettias in 6 inch pots, 22-inch fresh wreaths for $6.88, and 15-foot fresh garlands for $6.88. With the exception of the poinsettias (which like warm temperatures), you can stock up on all these items and keep them in your garage or other cool location until you are ready to decorate with them. The store opens at 6 a.m., and they do sell out, so I advise going in the morning.
I buy these boxwood wreaths at Trader Joe’s each year. They are a steal! The wreaths are happiest outside, but, with a couple of mists daily, they look good inside as well.
