Classic and Pretty Blue and White Rooms by a Connecticut Designer

Lee Ann Thornton , an interior designer based in Greenwich, Connecticut and now also in New York City, has designed some gorgeous blue and white spaces.  She incorporates many shades of blue into her designs and adds other accent colors to create interesting and sophisticated spaces that are traditional and elegant.

Here are some of my favorites from the last few years.

A gorgeous lacquered butler’s pantry:

Isn’t the Chinoiserie wallpaper by Gracie beautiful in the dining room below?

The pops of yellow work well with the blue and white in this Connecticut coastal home:

Notice that Thornton often adds brown pieces to her rooms which keeps the blues and whites from looking too sweet and predictable:

Here are some photos from a ranch home in Connecticut that Thornton designed and were published in House Beautiful this month:

I love the gorgeous chintz floral wall paper in the dining room:

The pops of apple green and purple make the blue and white palette less predictable in the room below:

Thornton experiments with many shades of blue in her designs. Her rooms feel comfortable yet sophisticated, and are always pretty and classic. Do you have any favorites?

Unless stated otherwise, the photos are from the designer’s portfolio

  1. Lee Ann Thornton is one of my favorite designers! I like that she’s original and bold with her interiors but this latest project is beyond spectacular! Have you seen her Greenwich home she often posts about on Instagram? I have a feeling you’ll like it 😉
