A European Style Home Tour in Houston

Recently, I came across the design portfolio of Carol Glasser Interiors. The founder, Carol Glasser, began her Houston-based firm over 40 years ago.  Her Georgian-style former home located on River Oaks Boulevard in Houston is particularly beautiful and I thought I would share some photos of it.

Isn’t the ivy covered brick on the exterior incredible?

I love the soothing pale blue wallpaper in the entry way:

Her rooms are full of gorgeous European antiques, many that look Swedish:

Pretty framed botanical prints:

Glaser uses beautiful checked and floral fabrics in her rooms:

I like the old beams and brick floor:

The Swedish daybed and old shuttered doors are interesting features in the master bathroom:

Carol Glasser sold this house a couple of years ago and now lives in a spacious loft-style high-rise apartment in the museum district of Houston that was recently featured in Milieu Magazine. I can imagine that it was a difficult decision for her to sell and leave such an incredible home!

  1. I loved all the rooms in this house (though I’m not sure why one would want a daybed in the bathroom?!) It is so peaceful and beautiful. I hope the recent floods from the hurricane did not reach it.

  2. Such an interesting home! Texas has long had a fascination with French style furnishings… So curious why… Happy Friday, Elizabeth! I hope the weather in Chicago is as good as down here in Urbana.
