A Favorite Fabric: Buffalo Check

One of my favorite prints is buffalo check. Buffalo check is similar to gingham, but the checks are much larger. Buffalo check fabric comes in all colors and works well in both contemporary and traditional designs.  One of its best features is that it works beautifully with most other prints and florals.

Here are some nice examples of buffalo check fabric in home decor:

Buffalo check can provide a pop of color, as in the photo above, and the fabric works well with other patterned fabrics.

Would you consider adding (or do you already incorporate) buffalo check fabric in your home?

  1. These rooms use the buffalo check very nicely! My mother had great style but we were worlds apart in our “look” so to speak. She was all about color and she used buffalo check and made it work. I probably wouldn’t but you’ve given me something to think about! It reminds me of how Furlow Gatewood uses gingham–very chicly!
