My Dream Appliance

If I ever win the lottery, I am going to create my dream kitchen–and the pièce de résistance of that kitchen will be a blue La Cornue range. Made in France since the beginning of the 20th century, La Cornue gas ranges are classic and gorgeous and work in all styles of kitchens, from farmhouse to contemporary. They are available in many fabulous colors with various choices of metal for the trim, and each is like a piece of fine jewelry (and equally as expensive!).

Here are images of La Cornue ranges in a variety of colors and kitchen styles.

I figure that if my favorite chef and cookbook author, Ina Garten, has a La Cornue in her Paris apartment (above), then it must be good!

I actually really like all the colors–it would be very difficult to just pick one! If I had to choose today, though, I think I would go with the navy with polished brass trim:

Which one would you choose?

  1. Gorgeous photos!!! If budget isn’t an issue, there’s enough space to place it in your kitchen, AND you love to cook (like Ina Garten), then the La Cornue stove is a worthy purchase. These kitchens are fit for kings and queens!

  2. I have to confess, I have found myself in a kitchen showroom, whispering sweet nothings to this stove/oven. They are absolutely beautiful. I wanted turquoise but now since I actually know what my kitchen looks like I’d have to go with a silver or silver white combo.
